Sep 9, 2022 at 6:59 PMTo expand logistics capacities, DB Schenker has opened a new location in Rostock Brinckmansdorf with an area of 11,000 sqm. The logistics service provider will operate a Shared Logistics Center there with 25 employees. The other logistics centers in the region will remain in operation.
(Frankfurt/Rostock) “With our new location in Brinckmansdorf, we are creating secure jobs, positioning ourselves even better, and completing our already strong regional presence with an important new hub,” said Michael Köppen, Head of Contract Logistics.
The existing contract logistics centers in Rostock Überseehafen, Güstrow, Gallin, Lalendorf, and Neubrandenburg will all remain operational. Therefore, DB Schenker’s capacities for North-South traffic in the strategically important area of Rostock will be sustainably increased by the new location.
Convenient location on the A19
The landlord of the logistics property is VGP. The location is situated in the VGP Park on the outskirts of Rostock in a convenient location directly on the A19. Since July 1, 2022, DB Schenker has rented approximately 10,000 sqm of warehouse space and 1,000 sqm of office space for storage and transshipment activities.
Gunnar Scholtz, Head of DB Schenker offices in Rostock and Güstrow: “The opening of the new Logistics Center in VGP Park Rostock comes at just the right time. We are experiencing a continuously increasing demand for logistics services from many companies in this economically very dynamic region. By expanding our storage and transshipment capacities, we are creating the conditions for ourselves, our customers, and the economy in the North to optimally utilize current growth potentials.”
Well positioned in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
The Güstrow office of Schenker Deutschland AG offers a complete logistics product range in the Rostock economic region: land, air, and sea transport as well as global supply chain management.
