
SYNERGETICS project improves shipping environment
Jun 26, 2026 at 1:59 PMThe Hong Kong-based MRO specialist HAECO Group has announced several leadership changes aimed at promoting the company’s long-term growth and supporting its airline and OEM customers worldwide. The new appointments will take effect from May 2026.
Charles de Zoete will be the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the HAECO Group, succeeding Roy Shearer, who will take on the CFO position at Swire Properties. De Zoete brings extensive experience from various financial roles within the Swire Group, which he has accumulated since joining in 2010 in Hong Kong, Singapore, Papua New Guinea, and the USA.

Sandra Nieuwenhuijzen, the current Group Director of Component and Engine Services, will retire in June 2026. Her successor will be George Edmunds, who is currently the CEO of Hong Kong Aero Engine Services Limited (HAESL). Edmunds has over 20 years of experience in various management positions within the Swire Group and has previously worked for the Cathay Pacific Group, among others.
Peter Murton, the CEO of HAECO Hong Kong, will take over as CEO at HAESL. Murton has been in his current role since 2024 and has previously held various leadership positions within the HAECO Group in China and the USA.

Tom Bellamy, the current Chief Transformation Officer and Director of Swire Projects, will become the new CEO of HAECO Hong Kong. Bellamy has worked in various areas within the Swire Group since 2008, including aviation, shipping, and logistics.
Richard Sell, CEO of the HAECO Group, commented on the new appointments and emphasized the importance of talent within HAECO and the Swire Group. He highlighted that these changes position the company well to seize future opportunities and invest in new capabilities and capacities.
The new leaders bring extensive experience and a strong focus on customer needs, which is significant for the further development of the MRO network in Hong Kong, mainland China, Southeast Asia, and other regions.
