Nov 11, 2020 at 7:30 AMThe Automotive Logistics Forum (FAL) of the German Automotive Industry Association (VDA) and the Federal Association of Logistics (BVL) is the annual top meeting of logistics professionals and supply chain managers from manufacturers and suppliers, as well as automotive experts from logistics, IT, packaging, service, and consulting companies.
(Berlin / Bremen) – In light of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the organizers have decided after intensive consultations to hold the event digitally on February 9 and 10, 2021.
To ensure a high-caliber participant field and a first-class experience for all attendees in the virtual space, VDA and BVL have decided to adopt a digital format early on. There will be various formats for companies to present themselves. The official presentation of the prestigious VDA Logistics Award will also take place digitally.
High Quality Despite Digital Event
VDA President Hildegard Müller emphasized: “The Corona pandemic poses enormous challenges for organizers of large events. The safety of all participants is our top priority. As it is still unclear how the situation will develop by the beginning of next year, we have already decided together with BVL to digitalize FAL 2021. We will also deliver high quality virtually and present an exciting program to all participants. Look forward to it!”
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Wimmer, Chairman of the BVL Board, said: “Changes in value chains are particularly a priority topic in automotive logistics: Will there be de-globalization? Will the primacy of cost reduction be abolished? Can more sustainability be achieved through efficiency? Will it be possible to reduce trade barriers? Where and how can skilled workers for this economic sector be recruited and further developed?”
“Value Creation in Transition – Regional, Sustainable, Duty-Free”
Answers will be provided at the Automotive Logistics Forum, which carries the guiding principle “Value Creation in Transition – Regional, Sustainable, Duty-Free”. Participants will be able to listen, watch, and engage – in plenary lectures, specialized sessions, and interactive chats. The program for the digital FAL 2021 will be announced shortly.
