Jul 9, 2026 at 10:47 AMKühne+Nagel and the Mondadori Group have opened a new logistics center in San Giorgio Bigarello, in the province of Mantua, which, with an area of 40,000 square meters, is considered the largest of its kind for educational publishers in Italy. The facility aims to make the distribution of learning materials to schools, teachers, and students across the country more efficient, as Kühne + Nagel reports.
The logistics center, developed and operated by Kühne+Nagel, consolidates the activities of the Mondadori Group that were previously spread across three locations. It serves both the educational and retail publishing business of the company. This includes bookstores, e-commerce, and direct sales. According to the company, this centralization of operations is a step towards a more comprehensive solution for logistics in publishing.
Process optimization
The new facility is expected to enable improved inventory transparency and integrates omnichannel functions, which will help the Mondadori Group respond more flexibly to the changing expectations of customers. Seasonal fluctuations in the education sector require precise planning, according to Kühne+Nagel, to ensure that learning materials are delivered to schools on time.
