Jul 9, 2026 at 10:49 AMAfter twelve hours of intensive search and rescue operations in the open sea, the Pakistan Navy (PN) and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) have successfully located and identified the wreckage of the missing cargo aircraft B737 from K2 Airways. The aircraft had been reported missing the night before.
The wreckage was recovered 53 nautical miles south of Ormara. Various air and sea units from the PN and PMSA were deployed for the search of the wreckage. The rescue teams are now working to find the five missing crew members.
Progress in Rescue Operations
The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) stated that search and rescue operations will continue, and further information will be provided as new developments occur. Authorities have emphasized that the safety of the crew is the top priority and all available resources will be mobilized to locate the missing individuals.
