Jun 25, 2026 at 2:33 PMItaly may not have qualified for the World Cup again, but this does not diminish the enthusiasm of the Tifosi. Recently, as part of ongoing customs controls, personnel from the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli at Brescia-Montichiari Airport seized a large quantity of counterfeit sports clothing. During the inspection, a shipment from the United Kingdom was discovered, which included more than 20 kg of garments intended for sale on the Italian market.
The inspection revealed that the products were marked with counterfeit brands aimed at deceiving consumers about their authenticity. The seized goods were subsequently placed under the supervision of the judicial authorities, who confirmed the measures taken.
The legal consequences for the import and trade of counterfeit products are significant. According to Article 474 of the Italian Penal Code, this can result in a prison sentence of one to four years, as well as fines ranging from €3,500 to €35,000. The procedure is currently in the preliminary investigation phase, and the presumption of innocence applies until a final conviction is reached.
With this action, the Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli once again emphasizes the importance of its measures to combat illegal activities that disrupt the proper functioning of the market. Through continuous monitoring of the area, the quality of products and the safety of consumers are protected.
