POINT.P & HAROPA plan logistics platform in Gennevilliers
Jun 24, 2026 at 1:10 PMLASO Transportes is currently undertaking a project in the field of renewable energy, which involves the transportation of wind turbine components to the Portuguese islands of Madeira and Porto Santo. The aim of the project is to support the installation of five wind turbines, with two to be built on Porto Santo and three on Madeira. According to a statement from the company, the execution of this project requires comprehensive logistical planning and coordination to meet the demands of the geographically challenging environment.
Complex logistics for wind turbines
As part of the project, LASO Transportes is transporting various large components, including nacelles, generators, tower sections, rotor blades, and auxiliary equipment. The use of specialized transport equipment is essential, according to the company, to meet the technical requirements. The transport of the tower pipes from the CSWind production facility in Sever do Vouga to the port of Aveiro has already been completed. From there, the components were transported by ship to the destination islands.
To tackle the logistical challenges, LASO has mobilized a specialized fleet: This includes, among other things, bladelifters, Super Wind Carriers (SWCs), crane trucks, as well as modular equipment such as pipe carriers and drop-in platforms.
