Jun 8, 2026 at 12:44 PMThe French real estate developer Argan has handed over a new logistics platform for Nortene Home Depot in the Ouest Park development zone in western France’s Louailles. The facility spans an area of 18,000 m² and is located along the A11 motorway, which connects Le Mans and Angers. Operations are conducted under a long-term lease agreement for twelve years. Nortene Home Depot is a significant player in the European garden and DIY market and is part of the Catral Group, which is represented in Europe by six subsidiaries. The company distributes its products through a network of nearly 4,000 sales outlets in France.
Strategic location and logistical advantages
The new logistics platform is only 30 km from the Nortene headquarters and offers direct access to the A11. This advantageous location allows the company to optimize its logistics operations and support growth. Argan and its partners successfully met the client’s requirements by delivering the facility in several phases within a short timeframe. This staggered handover enabled the teams to move into the new premises and commence operations even before the construction work was completed. The first phase was already handed over at the end of 2025, just ten months after the start of construction.
Energy efficiency and environmental standards
The logistics platform carries the AutOnom® label, which signifies projects that generate their own energy. A photovoltaic system with a capacity of 300 kWp has been installed on the roof, complemented by battery storage systems with a total capacity of 200 kWh. These systems cover the lighting and heating needs of the site. Heating is provided by high-performance electric heat pumps. The AutOnom® features reduce the facility’s CO₂ emissions by a factor of ten, while the remaining emissions are offset through a reforestation program in Cestas (Gironde, France). As a result, the facility achieves carbon neutrality during its operational phase.
Ronan Le Lan, Chairman of the Board of Argan, stated:
“This project is a true showcase for our expertise in logistics real estate development. Agility and adaptability are at the core of our value proposition. The success of this project, realized in a very short time and through a staggered handover process, is also the result of the commitment and dedication of all our partners, especially A26 Architectures, IDEC, and the Communauté de Communes du Pays Sabolien.”
