Jun 8, 2026 at 1:08 PMThe election of Mark Hindley as the new President of the ECG (European Vehicle Logistics Association) was announced on June 4, 2026, during the General Assembly and Spring Congress in Istanbul. In his opening speech, Hindley emphasized the opportunities presented by the rapid growth of electric vehicles and highlighted that the long-term success of the industry depends on the balance between innovation, competitiveness, energy security, and geopolitical risks.
The finished vehicle logistics (FVL) industry faces significant challenges characterized by rising fuel prices, capacity constraints, and the urgent need for sustainable solutions and skilled professionals. Hindley stated that these challenges also open up new opportunities for growth, collaboration, and leadership. „By embracing change, investing in our workforce, and leveraging global partnerships, we can not only manage today’s complexities but also lead the FVL into a more resilient and competitive future,“ said Hindley.
New board and recognition for longstanding President
The ECG welcomes the newly elected board, which was chosen from around 300 members and partners. In addition to Hindley, Marco Duato Mollera from Suardiaz Shipping Lines was elected as the new Vice President, along with three new board members: Jurgen Vanhove (ICO), Axel Krichel (BLG), and Tobias Spannbauer (MOSOLF). Former President Wolfgang Göbel, who served on the board for 24 years, including ten years as President, was appointed Honorary President and will continue to contribute to special projects.
The board members, elected for a term of one year, represent all sectors of the FVL as well as geographical regions across Europe. Re-elected members include Serge Agneray (Groupe Charles André), Artur Allende (Noatum Automotive), and Costantino Baldissara (Grimaldi Group). Board members Marc Adriansens and Krzysztof Szeligowski stepped down from their positions, and the ECG thanks them for their commitment and service.
The ECG serves as a platform for the finished vehicle logistics sector in Europe, bringing together logistics service providers, manufacturers, and suppliers. The aim of the ECG is to promote non-commercial collaboration among member companies and support the exchange of best practices in various operational areas, particularly in harmonizing operational standards.
