Jun 8, 2026 at 12:33 PMGirteka has strengthened its operations in Poland to better meet the needs of its customers in Europe. The Lithuania-based company, which is one of the leading providers in European road transport, has focused on building a flexible and customer-oriented logistics network. At the end of May, the leadership team of Girteka Group visited the operations in Poland and met with local teams in Warsaw as well as at the transport base in Poznań. The focus of the visit was on daily operations, fleet maintenance, driver support, transport planning, and the role of brokerage in enhancing the service offering for customers.
A central location for Girteka is Poznań in western Poland (photo), where the transport base plays an important role in fleet maintenance, driver support, and the daily execution of transports. More than 4,000 employees, including drivers, are connected to Girteka’s operations in Poznań. Responsibilities include transport management, planning, human resources, legal, IT, maintenance, administration, driver support, and daily fleet operations in Europe. Nearly 300 maintenance experts work at the base, servicing around 3,000 trucks monthly.
These activities are complemented by brokerage operations in Warsaw, enabling the company to respond efficiently to changing customer needs and market conditions.
Since the start of Girteka’s activities in 2019, Poland has developed into a strategically important location. Poznań offers a strong operational position in Central Europe and plays a crucial role in fleet maintenance and daily transport execution. Additionally, the Girteka Drivers Academy is located in Poznań, providing training and professional support to drivers before they operate in Europe.
Edvardas Liachovičius, CEO of Girteka Group, emphasizes:
“Poland is an important part of the European operations and future growth of Girteka. Our base in Poznań brings together people, vehicles, processes, and daily decisions. Together with our brokerage team in Warsaw, it strengthens our ability to respond to the needs of customers in Europe.”
The demands in road transport can change rapidly. Demand, capacity, transport flows, and delivery requirements are often unpredictable. Girteka addresses this challenge by combining the strengths of its own fleet with additional market flexibility. The own fleet represents scalability, discipline, and responsibility. Brokerage is used as a tool to respond to customer needs that exceed planned capacity or when market conditions change.
The operational role of the base in Poznań is crucial for ensuring responsiveness and operational quality within the company’s network. The transport base in Poznań ensures that trucks are well-prepared, drivers are trained and ready for deployment, and operations can continue with discipline and speed.
Dmitrij Voitkevič, head of transport operations in Poznań, highlights that continuous improvement is at the core of the base’s work. “Improvement is a continuous process. The visit from the leadership team gave us the opportunity to view our operations from a broader perspective and identify ways to optimize our daily work. These improvements directly contribute to service reliability, operational quality, and customer satisfaction,” Voitkevič states.
