Jun 8, 2026 at 10:31 AMQatar Airways Cargo and Qatar Aviation Services (QAS), the handling service provider at Doha Airport also belonging to the Qatar Airways Group, have received the IATA CEIV Fresh recertification for their fresh products. This confirmation reaffirms compliance with global standards in the handling of perishable goods. The recertification aligns with the Perishable Cargo Regulations (PCR) of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and encompasses both operational procedures and quality management systems.
The CEIV Fresh certification underscores the company’s commitment to providing seamless cold chain solutions within its global network. Qatar Airways Cargo’s fresh products support a variety of perishable goods, including fruits, vegetables, seafood, meat, flowers, and confectionery, ensuring that the integrity and quality of shipments are maintained during transport.
The recertification is part of an ongoing program for continuous improvement in aviation and ground operations. This includes regular audits, process optimizations, targeted training initiatives, and close collaboration between Qatar Airways Cargo and QAS Cargo to ensure full compliance with international standards.
Commitment to global standards
Qatar Airways Cargo actively participates in the development of global standards for perishable goods by engaging in the IATA Perishable Cargo Working Group (PCWG). This supports the ongoing advancement of best practices in the industry. The first CEIV Fresh certification was obtained in June 2023, and the current recertification is valid until June 2029. This strengthens the company’s position as a trusted partner for temperature-sensitive air freight.
From April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026, the airline transported over 240,000 tons of perishable cargo worldwide via Qatar, highlighting the scale of its activities in this segment.
