May 19, 2026 at 1:24 PMKermené has optimized the traceability of its logistics processes through a new partnership with Zetes. The company, which serves as the exclusive supplier for the French supermarket chain E.Leclerc, now relies on the ZetesMedea Shipping Verification solution to enhance efficiency and security in its production operations.
Traceability in the ultra-fresh sector
Kermené is a significant player in the agricultural and food industry, with a revenue of €1.2 billion and approximately 4,000 employees. The company operates seven production facilities and ships nearly 100,000 cartons daily. In a sector where product traceability is crucial, Kermené has recognized the need to minimize manual sources of error. In the past, manual workflows occasionally led to issues with labeling and pallet assembly, posing significant risks in a sensitive area like food production.
Automated solutions for error prevention
The decision to implement ZetesMedea Shipping Verification was made due to the ability to establish automated and precise control. A total of eleven automatic camera-based Shipping Verification Gates have been installed at five production sites in France. This technology allows for the verification of each pallet before it is released for shipping. The cameras capture barcodes, batch numbers, expiration dates, and item numbers to ensure that all information is accurate.
An additional artificial intelligence module detects irregularities, such as unmarked cartons or missing packages. After validation, a pallet label is generated, and all relevant data is transmitted to the ERP systems, updating traceability in real-time.
Measurable efficiency gains
Since the implementation of the system, Kermené has observed significant improvements in operational efficiency. Traceability now stands at 100%, meaning that each carton is uniquely identified and assigned to its pallet. The time required for shipping verification has drastically reduced: while up to 144 scans were previously necessary, the new system now only takes five seconds for the same process. These efficiency gains have allowed the company to save the equivalent of five full-time positions and reassign employees to value-added tasks.
Arnaud Valet, Plant and Supply Chain Manager at Kermené, emphasizes the importance of the partnership with Zetes: “At Kermené, we work with real partners, not just suppliers. Zetes brings expertise, innovation, and responsiveness.” This collaboration is part of Kermené’s commitment to invest in modern technologies to ensure the quality of its products and optimize the entire supply chain.
The implementation of ZetesMedea Shipping Verification thus represents a significant step for Kermené in ensuring the traceability and control of its logistics flows and meeting the demands of the ultra-fresh sector.
