May 11, 2026 at 7:53 AMThe air freight IT service provider Pelicargo has expanded its airline integrations and is now offering the products and services of Emirates SkyCargo on its platform. This integration represents the first API connectivity with an airline from the Middle East and occurs against the backdrop of increasing digital acceptance among U.S. freight forwarders. By accessing the capacities of Emirates SkyCargo, forwarders can secure bookings more efficiently and manage their shipments in real time.
Digitalization is changing pricing and processing in the air freight sector, as forwarders increasingly deviate from traditional processes between airports. Pelicargo has adapted to this development by combining the capacities of airlines with an origin-based pricing model to enable forwarders to receive faster quotes and optimize execution.
Enhanced digital presence
Sean Angata, co-founder of Pelicargo, commented on the partnership: “For us, it is a natural fit – Emirates SkyCargo has built a reputation for excellence and forward-thinking innovation that perfectly aligns with our mission. We share a common vision: to put the customer at the center and provide locally relevant, digitally connected solutions that make air freight faster and more accessible.”
Badr Abbas, Divisional SVP of Emirates SkyCargo, emphasized the importance of the digital solutions that have been implemented worldwide. These have had a significant impact on operations by enabling faster information exchanges and optimized bookings. The connection to Pelicargo’s platform is another step in Emirates SkyCargo’s strategy to better reach both new and existing customers in the U.S.
The integration of Emirates SkyCargo expands Pelicargo’s global offering and strengthens access to key trade routes in the Middle East as well as transatlantic and international markets. Forwarders can now directly access the portfolio of Emirates SkyCargo through the platform, which includes specialized products for perishable goods, pharmaceuticals, and time-sensitive shipments. This allows for improved visibility regarding schedules, rates, and available capacities.
Furthermore, forwarders can price shipments from any U.S. origin ZIP code to global destinations through Pelicargo by combining the first transport with air freight processing via a network of over 2,000 domestic partners. The platform reflects a broader trend towards more dynamic, data-driven procurement processes, as Pelicargo surpasses the milestone of 500 registered forwarders, underscoring the growing acceptance of digital air freight operations.
