The company reported an EBIT of USD 340 million, which is attributed to ongoing operational improvements and cost control measures, as stated by the company.
Growth in various business segments
In the Ocean segment, Maersk recorded a volume growth of 9.3%, above the market average. The Logistics & Services division also increased its revenue by 8.7%. The company’s terminals raised their throughput figures by 4.3%. At the same time, the company made investments to expand its capacities. Maersk is also continuing its share buyback program worth USD 1.0 billion.
According to Maersk, the demand for container transport further increased in the first quarter of 2026, supported by strong export growth from China. The company stated that the outbreak of the conflict in the Middle East had only limited effects on demand and financial performance in the first quarter. The Logistics & Services and Terminal segments are relatively less affected by the Middle East compared to other business areas.
