Daimler Truck acquires eStar Truck & Van in the UK
May 5, 2026 at 10:54 AMMatthew Kibble Transport, a logistics specialist based in Nelson, Lancashire, has invested a six-figure sum in the expansion and modernization of its vehicle fleet. This investment includes the acquisition of new trucks and trailers to meet the increased demands of the company, as stated.
With the recent expansion, the company has increased its fleet to a total of 52 vehicles. New additions include a 3.5-ton van, a 75-plate DAF rigid vehicle, eight 25-plate articulated lorries, and seven double-decker trailers. Furthermore, Matthew Kibble Transport has put into operation its first fully electric truck, a „DAF XB190,“ which, according to the company, marks the beginning of a more environmentally friendly direction.
Growth through partnerships
The investment in the fleet occurs in the context of an expanded partnership with the pallet network Pallet-Track. Matthew Kibble Transport joined the network in 2010 to cover the areas of Preston, Blackpool, and Fylde Coast. Recently, the company has expanded its service area to include Blackburn, Burnley, Accrington, and East Lancashire. This geographical expansion has reportedly increased the volume of pallet freight by 90 percent and grown the overall business by 25 percent.
