May 5, 2026 at 8:00 AMThe US logistics service provider Logistics Plus, Inc. has announced that founder Jim Berlin is transitioning from his position as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to the role of Chairman. At the same time, Yuriy Ostapyak (photo), the former Chief Operating Officer (COO), has been appointed as the new CEO. These changes take effect immediately.
Leadership change and strategic direction
Jim Berlin, who founded the company nearly 30 years ago with just one customer and three employees, commented on this transition: “The development of Logistics Plus is the result of the hard work, creativity, and commitment of our employees.” He emphasized that the daily management of the company is now in capable hands and praised Ostapyak’s previous achievements. Ostapyak has been with Logistics Plus since 2005 and brings a 20-year career in sales, operations, freight brokerage, and global procurement. In his role as COO, he played a significant part in the company’s global expansion and has transformed it from a logistics provider into a comprehensive solutions provider in supply chain management.
Ostapyak, who holds degrees in International Business and Marketing from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and in International Economics from Kyiv National Economic University, stated: “Jim has built something extraordinary – a company that is defined not only by growth but also by its people and values.” He expressed his honor in taking over the leadership of Logistics Plus and reaffirmed his commitment to the company’s customers and partners.
Berlin will remain actively involved in the strategic direction of Logistics Plus and will continue to advocate for aid projects in Ukraine as well as initiatives in Erie. In anticipation of the company’s upcoming 30th anniversary in August, Logistics Plus will move into the future under the motto “Built for What’s Next.”
