May 4, 2026 at 8:48 AMTCE (Total Cargo Expertise), an offering available at over 230 airports by the globally operating ECS Group, and Virgin Atlantic Cargo recently celebrated the one-year anniversary of their European partnership. The celebration took place in Amsterdam and brought together customers to reflect on a successful year. The cooperation not only focuses on improving processes and growing the companies but also on jointly supporting Dutch darts player Gian Van Veen (photo).
Over the past year, TCE and Virgin Atlantic Cargo have built a comprehensive partnership based on specialized operational capabilities and a shared commitment to customer-oriented innovations. The collaboration has led to significant revenue growth and optimized processes. Additionally, a well-coordinated network for transport and capacity has been established, supporting Virgin Atlantic Cargo’s long-haul services from London Heathrow while achieving ambitious performance targets. This initial phase of collaboration lays the foundation for a closer commercial partnership, which will also support Gian Van Veen’s rise in the international darts world.
Sarah Scheibe, Managing Director of TCE, emphasizes: “We go far beyond the expectations of a traditional General Sales Agent (GSA). Our product portfolio is unique in the air freight industry, and we are elevating our partnerships to a new level. Together with Virgin Atlantic Cargo, we have initiated the sponsorship partnership with Gian Van Veen this year.” Van Veen, currently ranked number 3 in the world and number 1 in the Netherlands in professional darts, has made a name for himself over the past two years. He has studied aviation at the University of Applied Sciences in Amsterdam and previously worked in logistics.
The 24-year-old Van Veen, who is nicknamed “The Giant” due to his height of 1.93 m, has been playing darts since he was eight years old. After stepping back from work in 2024, he has fully dedicated himself to the sport. His calm, analytical, and fearless nature reflects many parallels to the air freight industry.
“It is particularly significant for us to support Gian together with our partner Virgin Atlantic Cargo. We are excited about what the future holds for Gian and the ongoing expansion of Virgin Atlantic Cargo in Europe. Our first year has led to a strong partnership, a broad network, and exciting growth opportunities,” adds Sarah Scheibe. TCE now represents Virgin Atlantic Cargo in 14 European countries and manages a fully integrated transport network to London Heathrow Airport.
