Apr 9, 2026 at 1:56 PMThe Indonesian airline PT Semuwa Aviasi Mandiri has placed an order for additional Cessna Caravan aircraft to expand its fleet. These new planes are intended to enhance support for cargo, logistics, and passenger services, as well as to conduct weather modification missions in Indonesia.
The Cessna Caravan is regarded as a versatile aircraft known for its reliability and operational flexibility. Tony Jones (right), Vice President of Sales for the Asia-Pacific region at its U.S. manufacturer Textron Aviation, emphasizes that the performance of the Caravan enables operators like SAM Air to reach remote destinations and improve regional connectivity. „The Cessna Caravan delivers proven reliability and operational flexibility, making it an ideal solution for missions in Indonesia,“ Jones stated.
Currently, Yasa – SAM Air operates one Cessna Caravan and one Cessna Grand Caravan EX, which are used for charter and logistics services. With the expansion of its fleet to include more Cessna Caravan aircraft, the company will be able to enhance its services in domestic charter, logistics, and public services.
