The German company Riege Software has acquired the majority stake in its Dutch subsidiary, Riege Software International BV. This decision coincides with the 15th anniversary of the company, which specializes in software solutions for transport management in air and sea freight as well as customs clearance.
With this strategic move, Riege aims to strengthen its position in the European logistics technology market and expand its presence in the Benelux region. By increasing its stake, the company intends to enhance operational efficiency, intensify cross-border collaboration, and drive innovations for its global customer base.
Since its establishment, the Dutch subsidiary has developed into a successful enterprise. Henk Boorsma, co-founder and former director, reflects on the development: “What started as a joint project 15 years ago has far exceeded expectations. Today, we serve more than 250 customers with thousands of users – from small to large freight forwarders covering both sea freight and air freight as well as customs clearance.”
Leadership Transition and Continuity
To ensure continuity during the transition, Boorsma and his co-founder Martin Bos will support the company during this period and will continue to be available with their expertise afterward.
As part of these changes, Matanja van der Wart, who previously served as Operations Manager, has been appointed Managing Director for the Benelux region. She will focus on expanding the business in the region, strengthening customer relationships, and implementing the company’s strategic plans. “We have a strong foundation here in the Benelux region, and I look forward to building on that together with our team and our customers – alongside the German parent company,” she states.
Christian Riege, CEO of Riege Software, emphasizes van der Wart’s importance to the organization: “Matanja has played a key role in our success in the Netherlands,” he says, adding: “Together with our experienced local team, she will lead our Benelux organization into the next phase.”
