The Deutsche Bahn (DB) recorded a positive development in its operating result for the fiscal year 2025. The group revenue increased by three percent compared to 2024, reaching approximately 27 billion euros. The adjusted operating result (EBIT) improved by 630 million euros, resulting in a positive value of 297 million euros. Despite these advancements, the annual result after taxes remains negative at a loss of 2.3 billion euros, as the company reports. Taking into account the sale of DB Schenker, there would be an annual surplus of 5.3 billion euros.
DB CEO comments on the company’s situation
DB CEO Evelyn Palla commented on the results and emphasized that satisfaction is not appropriate in the current situation. „Only when we can sustainably generate annual surpluses and finance investments from our own resources will we have reached our goal,“ she stated. According to company information, all business areas, except for DB Cargo, were able to achieve a positive operating result in 2025.
