Mar 4, 2026 at 9:33 AMThe British International Freight Association (Bifa) is supporting ‘National Careers Week’ by highlighting career opportunities in freight forwarding and in the logistics sector. As the trade association representing UK freight forwarders, Bifa will use the initiative to raise awareness of the roles linked to international trade and supply chain operations.
Forwarders coordinate the movement of goods by air, sea, road and rail and are thus one of the key elements of global trade. Knowledge of the profession amongst school leavers and graduates still remains somewhat limited, however, which is why Bifa works with its members to present the sector as a technology-driven field with great internationally-connected career opportunities.
Members receive resources from Bifa to support engagement with schools and colleges, giving students insight into operational roles, customs compliance, supply chain management, sales, IT and sustainability.
A central element of this effort is Bifa’s ‘Young Forwarders Network’. The platform connects industry professionals aged under 32 and supports networking, skills development and knowledge exchange. Through events and collaboration, the network encourages early career development and provides younger employees with opportunities to contribute to the future direction of the sector.
