Wan Hai Lines recently held a ship launching ceremony for the new container ship „WAN HAI 711“ at the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. The event also included a charity initiative. The naming ceremony was conducted by Ivy Tang, the wife of Hua Chen-Zuo, the chairman of Zhejiang Hengshuo Industrial Co., Ltd. She wished the ship good fortune and safe travels.
Technical Details and Area of Operation
The „WAN HAI 711“ is the first of two container ships in the 7,000-TEU class built at the shipyard. The delivery of the ship is scheduled for early this month. The container ship will operate on Wan Hai Lines‘ Far East-Mediterranean Route 1. With a length of 272 m and a width of 42.8 m, the ship has a maximum draft of 15 m, according to the company. The „WAN HAI 711“ is equipped with modern engines and various environmentally friendly technologies. These include an integrated bow wind deflector and a stern energy-saving device. These technical innovations aim to reduce fuel consumption and emissions.
