Aug 3, 2023 at 8:20 PMPanattoni, as a leading developer of industrial and logistics properties in Europe, will realize the new construction on an area of approximately 42,700 m² in the new commercial area of Bornheim-Hersel. The site of a former gravel pit has been filled and is now being repurposed. The area is located directly at the highway access “Bornheim” on the A555.
(Hamburg/Bornheim) With the industrial and logistics property, Panattoni is developing sustainable spaces for a broad mix of users. Upon completion, approximately 26,000 m² of total rental space will be available, including 1,800 m² of office and social space as well as 1,900 m² of mezzanine space, distributed across four units. These are flexibly divisible and offer areas between 3,000 and 6,000 m² each, making them suitable for various commercial uses.
As part of the development, Panattoni aims for certification according to the DGNB Gold Standard and implements extensive sustainability measures. A photovoltaic system will be installed on the roof, and rainwater will be collected for further use. Additionally, green roofs are planned for the sprinkler center as well as for the bicycle and smoking shelters. Last but not least, the developer places significant emphasis on the design of the outdoor areas, including site-appropriate planting and attractive recreational areas for employees.
Joachim Strauß, Managing Director of the Economic Development and Promotion Company mbH Bornheim, comments on the new construction: “Bornheim is located in the dynamic economic region of Cologne/Bonn. Many companies appreciate our very good location – in addition to several highway connections, there is access to the rail network, and Cologne/Bonn Airport and the Rhine are not far away. We welcome that Panattoni is responding to the high demand for sustainable spaces. We particularly appreciate the consideration of a suitable mobility concept for future users to relieve public road space.”
Completion in the Third Quarter of 2023
“After several years of project initiation, we are now starting the construction of a Panattoni Park at the outstanding location of Bornheim at the end of the year. Our thanks go to the city of Bornheim and the economic development agency, as well as all other project participants who make this settlement possible,” says Fred-Markus Bohne, Managing Partner for Panattoni Germany and Austria. Construction work will begin in the fourth quarter of 2023. Panattoni anticipates completion in the third quarter of 2024.
