Sievert Logistics now also offers customs clearance services
Mar 25, 2023 at 4:07 PMEffective March 23, 2023, CFNR Transport SAS changes its company name to Rhenus PartnerShip France SAS. This operates under the brand RSP France. The renaming is an important step in the development strategy of the Rhenus Group with regard to inland shipping logistics and handling in the French inland ports.
(Holzwickede/Ilange) Since 1973, the Rhenus Group has been active in inland shipping logistics in France through various companies. In 2015, Rhenus solidified its position by acquiring the inland shipping charter activities of CFNR SA under the brand CFNR Transport, with branches in Uckange/Thionville, Kehl/Strasbourg, and Dunkirk. Since then, the company has continuously evolved: a new branch was established in Sens in 2016, and since 2019, the company has been operating as a port concessionaire and operator in the Moselle ports. In 2021, CFNR Transport participated in the capital of SEMOP of the Rhine port Colmar Neuf-Brisach. In 2022, Rhenus’s activities in inland shipping and port logistics in France reached a volume of eight million tons, of which five were transported and three were handled.
With the new name, France joins the European network of inland shipping activities of the Rhenus Group, which are now summarized under Rhenus PartnerShip.
Deepening Synergies within the Group
“The goal of the Rhenus Group is to deepen the existing synergies within all European subsidiaries engaged in inland shipping and handling in inland ports. Due to the geographical location of the European waterway network and the steadily increasing integration of the RSP houses, we are able to continuously adapt and develop our logistics portfolio for general cargo and bulk goods to meet the needs of our customers,” explains Dirk Gemmer, Managing Director of Rhenus Transport. “We are very pleased that our four French charter agencies and port operation sites will strengthen their position in this network,” adds Jean-Marc Thomas, Managing Director of Rhenus PartnerShip France.
