Boris Hueske and Nikola Tadic Take Over Leadership at heyworld
Jan 13, 2023 at 7:23 PMGREIWING logistics for you GmbH is intensifying its commitment to the plastics processing industry and expanding its capacities for handling plastics at the Wesel location. A symbolic groundbreaking marked the start of extensive construction work. The logistics service provider is realizing a new logistics center with an attached silos on a 4,500 square meter site directly next to its previous location.
(Greven/Wesel) With the expansion, GREIWING will have a total of 14,150 pallet spaces. The new building sets standards in terms of sustainability. It is an Efficiency House 40 EE. Additionally, almost the entire electricity demand will be covered by a photovoltaic system. This measure will create eleven new jobs, so that with the planned completion in August 2023, GREIWING will employ 55 people in Wesel.
“With the expansion of our capacities in Wesel, we are responding to the increasing demand from the plastics processing industry. On the other hand, we aim to meet the expectations and requirements of our customers and clients even better and more efficiently in the future,” says Jürgen Greiwing, Managing Partner of GREIWING logistics for you GmbH. After 2014, this is already the second comprehensive expansion of the Wesel location. In 2010, the logistics service provider opened the unique granulate technology center in Germany there.
Transshipment of Bulk Goods
The new logistics property will consist of a hall with a total floor area of 2,500 square meters. The service portfolio includes storage, sorting, homogenization, and drying, as well as packaging, palletizing, and labeling. In addition, GREIWING will handle the transshipment of bulk goods from bags, octabins, barrels, or big bags into road silos in separate silage lanes.
Sustainable construction is a focus at Greiwing. The building will be constructed based on KfW guidelines and will require only 40 percent of the primary energy of a comparable building. Since at least 55 percent of the energy needed for heating and cooling comes from renewable energies, it achieves the Efficiency House 40 EE class. A photovoltaic system will be installed on the roof of the hall to independently supply the entire facility and the charging stations for electric forklifts with electricity. In addition, an air-water heat pump will be installed for efficient heat distribution. “It is a matter of course for us as a family business to consider sustainability in the planning of a new building and to implement as many measures as possible to reduce our CO2 footprint,” says Greiwing.
Sustainable Construction as a Core Topic
The construction project is being realized in collaboration with Brüninghoff GmbH & Co. KG from Heiden. Tobias Krützkemper, Head of Business Unit Commercial Construction at Brüninghoff GmbH & Co. KG: “Sustainable construction is one of the core topics of our corporate group. We are pleased that we can consistently convince clients like GREIWING logistics for you GmbH with our expertise and successfully implement construction projects together.”
