PGG is set to become the leading logistics specialist for the distribution of automotive glass panes at night, both in terms of quality and coverage.
(Wiesbaden/Langenfeld) Innight Express GmbH, operating under the brand name nox NachtExpress, has acquired all shares of P.G.G. Logistik GmbH and its sister companies (PGG Group) effective immediately. The aim of the acquisition is to expand the night express network of the PGG Group, which specializes in the high-quality distribution of automotive glass panes, nationwide.
PGG is to become the leading distributor of automotive glass panes
The expansion is expected to be completed by the beginning of the second quarter of 2021. Nox NachtExpress relies on the expertise of the previous managing directors Patrick Sorajewski and Elke Loewen-Grellmann, both of whom will remain with the company. The name PGG will also continue to exist. “Through the merger and the planned investments, the PGG Group will become the leading logistics specialist for the distribution of automotive glass panes at night, both in terms of quality and coverage,” explains Donald Pilz, CEO of the nox Group. “This will also lead to an expansion of quality solutions for sender and receiver customers in the automotive spare parts industry within the nox Group.”
Expansion of service offerings for automotive customers
The PGG Group is already the leading logistics specialist for the distribution of automotive glass panes at night. The group has four operational locations in Gelsenkirchen, Gensingen, Remchingen, and Fürstenfeldbruck. However, due to this network structure, not all destinations, particularly many northern and eastern areas of Germany, have been economically sustainable to serve. The synergistic expansion of infrastructure and the provision of additional resources by nox NachtExpress will enable a significantly higher level of service for customers of both networks.
The previous managing directors remain with the company
The previous managing director of the PGG Group, Patrick Sorajewski, states: “Our customers have been demanding nationwide coverage in the PGG standard for years. We are pleased to finally be able to achieve this through the merger with nox NachtExpress.” Customers of nox NachtExpress will also benefit from the investment in the separate network specialized in the distribution of automotive glass panes. “The requirements for transporting glass panes have repeatedly posed challenges to our network, especially during peak periods. Thanks to the merger with the PGG Group, we can now significantly better meet the current and future requirements of our existing customers, exploit existing growth potentials, and generate further growth opportunities within the important automotive aftermarket sector for us.”
Acquisition of all employees and continuity in management
Nox NachtExpress acquires all shares of the PGG Group companies as well as all employees. The previous PGG customer service representatives will continue to be personal contacts for customers to ensure the usual high level of service. In addition, nox NachtExpress will specialize employees at the locations used for glass distribution in the future to provide customers with the highest level of quality.

So far, the company has mainly operated in the southern and western regions of Germany and occasionally in the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, and Switzerland.
