Jul 14, 2026 at 8:08 AMThe Indian Register of Shipping (IRS) has launched a new digital platform called „NEURON,“ designed to facilitate access to maritime regulations and technical knowledge. According to a company statement, this platform provides a central point of contact for professionals in the shipping industry to access IRClass rules, classification notes, guidelines, and other technical publications.
Information retrieval for maritime professionals
„NEURON“ has been developed as a knowledge platform that, according to IRS, enables users to quickly find technical and regulatory information. This aims to reduce the time required to review multiple documents while supporting the areas of ship design, construction, inspection, operation, and compliance. The platform targets a variety of stakeholders, including ship owners, operators, shipyards, naval architects, construction companies, equipment manufacturers, consultants, surveyors, regulatory authorities, and researchers.
By integrating IRClass publications into a unified digital environment, the accessibility of knowledge is expected to improve. This is intended to help maritime professionals make informed technical and operational decisions.
