Jul 13, 2026 at 8:05 AMSolitAir has expanded its network in China with a new route to Tianjin Binhai International Airport (TSN). The Dubai-based airline, specializing in B2B air freight, strengthens trade connections between the UAE, China, and key global markets. The new connection follows successful operations to Hong Kong and Urumqi.
The first flight transported a VIP cargo, highlighting the strategic importance of the new corridor for customers requiring tailored, secure, and time-sensitive air freight solutions. The route to Tianjin represents another step in enhancing the company’s connectivity in China.
Tianjin as a key trade location
Tianjin, a port city in northern China with 14 million inhabitants, is one of the largest industrial and logistics centers in the country. It serves as a major maritime and air transport hub for the economic region of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, which accounted for 8.5% of China’s gross domestic product (GDP) in 2025. The Port of Tianjin is among the busiest in the world, processing over 23 million TEUs annually. TSN provides essential air freight connections for advanced manufacturing sectors such as automotive, aerospace, electronics, pharmaceuticals, as well as for high-value industrial equipment. Additionally, the city plays an increasingly significant role within the Belt and Road Initiative.
Hamdi Osman, founder and CEO of SolitAir, emphasized:
“China continues to be one of the most important growth markets for global trade and expanding our network to Tianjin reflects our commitment to serving the evolving needs of our customers. Tianjin gives us direct access to one of northern China’s most dynamic manufacturing and logistics hubs while strengthening the 111 billion USD non-oil trade links between China and the UAE.”
The opening of the route to Tianjin builds on SolitAir’s already established presence in China, which also includes flights to Hong Kong and Urumqi. This comes shortly after the company’s market entry into Europe with the first connection to Sofia, Bulgaria.
Growth and fleet expansion
Since its operational launch in October 2024, SolitAir has expanded its network to 56 routes in 33 countries, including an 18-city network in Africa. The company plans to increase its fleet from the current seven Boeing 737-800 BCF freighters, each with a capacity of 20 tons, to 20 aircraft. This fleet is designed for reliability, range, and versatility to transport hazardous goods, pharmaceuticals, perishable items, as well as valuable and oversized cargo. Operations are conducted from a 20,440 m² cargo center at Dubai World Central (DWC), Al Maktoum International Airport.
