Jul 6, 2026 at 12:58 PMChronodrive, a French pioneer in the drive-in grocery retail sector and a subsidiary of Auchan Retail France, has chosen RELEX solutions to optimize the management of its fresh produce category and reduce spoilage of fruits and vegetables in its network of drive-in warehouses. The company has begun implementing RELEX Store Operations to automate the ordering of fresh products and improve availability across various fresh produce categories.
Chronodrive operates 56 drive-in warehouse locations, where each customer order is prepared individually. Freshness and real-time availability are of utmost priority. Fresh products are a key attraction for the company, but they also represent one of the most complex categories due to high demand fluctuations, short shelf lives, and tight replenishment windows.
To address these challenges, Chronodrive has opted for RELEX Store Operations, which enables the automation of orders and inventory management in the fresh produce categories. RELEX generates demand forecasts that take into account shelf life, seasonality, and demand fluctuations at the SKU level. This helps balance freshness, availability, and waste reduction in the assortment. By directly linking forecasts with replenishment decisions, the retailer aims to reduce spoilage while maintaining high availability at all locations.
After one month of live operation, Chronodrive reported a significant reduction in spoilage of fruits and vegetables in the drive-in warehouses, as well as a stronger alignment between replenishment orders and actual customer demand. The warehouse teams also gained improved operational visibility, supported by automated ordering recommendations.
“At Chronodrive, we see AI as an accelerator for our business model,” explained Arnaud Boucher, Director of Operations at Chronodrive. “For every operational challenge, we seek the best specialists, and RELEX has established itself as the most relevant partner to assist us in managing our fresh products. As we rapidly expand our home delivery offering, we increasingly require more precise forecasts to ensure the right stock levels, availability of fresh products, and the quality of service our customers expect from us. Through this automation, AI also enables us to focus our teams on what matters most: freshness, quality, and service. It is a technology that creates value where it matters most, on the ground.”
Mateo Beacco, General Manager RELEX Fresh at RELEX Solutions, commented:
“The rapid operational results in the fresh produce sector confirm the impact that RELEX Store Operations can have on the most complex fresh produce categories. Chronodrive has always set benchmarks for fresh execution in drive retail, and we look forward to supporting the next chapter of this collaboration.”
