Jul 1, 2026 at 7:19 AMThe software provider k2.mobility has announced a strategic partnership with Eco Grid Innovations (EGI) in the Netherlands. Starting from July 1, 2026, k2.mobility’s cloud-based SaaS platform „PANION“ will be integrated into the EGI ecosystem. This collaboration aims to provide a solution for charging infrastructure, energy, and fleet management, as reported by the company.
Challenges of grid capacity
According to k2.mobility, the electrification of truck fleets poses an increasing challenge in the Netherlands, particularly regarding grid capacities. The pressure on the power grid is growing as the demand for electric connections rises. Currently, more than 15,000 large consumers in the Netherlands are waiting for a new or more powerful grid connection. Forecasts indicate, according to k2.mobility, that structural improvements in the power grid are unlikely to be realized until after 2030. Against this backdrop, intelligent solutions for energy and charging management are essential to advance the electrification of vehicle fleets.
„To electrify heavy commercial vehicle fleets, the correct integration of systems is crucial. Charging infrastructure, energy systems, and the requirements of daily logistics operations must be perfectly coordinated,“ said Markus Kröger, Co-CEO of k2.mobility.
