Jun 11, 2026 at 9:48 AMEmirates SkyCargo has announced that it will begin weekly cargo flights with Boeing 777F aircraft to Almaty International Airport in Kazakhstan starting June 16, 2026. This marks the company’s first cargo destination from Dubai (UAE) in Central Asia. The new flights aim to create a trade route that integrates the region into the company’s global network.
Almaty, the largest city in Kazakhstan, is increasingly becoming a significant trade and logistics hub, serving as an important economic gateway for Central Asia. The weekly cargo flights, which will take place on Tuesdays, offer a capacity of over 100 tons per week. These flights facilitate the smooth transport of essential goods such as electronics, perishable items, machinery, and other consumer products between Almaty and the rest of the world via Dubai.
Badr Abbas, Divisional Senior Vice President of Emirates SkyCargo, stated:
“The weekly cargo service to Almaty aligns with our role as a partner in global trade and is an important step in expanding our network and connectivity to Central Asia, a region experiencing dynamic growth. Our flights provide new opportunities for businesses in Almaty and the surrounding region to expand their international activities while offering our global customers a convenient and fast cargo connection to a strategic market. The expansion to Almaty supports our long-term growth strategy and the goals of the D33 Dubai Economic Agenda by accelerating external trade and enhancing Dubai’s position as a global logistics hub.”
To meet the growing global demand, Emirates SkyCargo is strategically expanding its cargo fleet and global network. Since March 2026, the airline has received four new Boeing 777 freighters, with six more cargo aircraft planned for the remainder of the year, bringing the fleet to 21 aircraft by December 2026. In addition to dedicated cargo flights, the airline also offers a high frequency of bellyhold cargo capacity on Emirates passenger aircraft flying to destinations across six continents.
