May 27, 2026 at 9:18 AMThe Egyptian Aviation Services (EAS) has signed a contract for the implementation of the Ground Handling System (GHS) from EPG. The aim of this agreement is the complete digitization of the contract and billing processes of the ground handling provider. This measure is intended to increase efficiency and transparency while ensuring that all services rendered are properly billed. The implementation of the GHS is seen as a significant step in the digital transformation of EAS and reflects the growing demand for integrated systems in the aviation industry.
Digitization of Business Processes
EAS operates at six locations in Egypt and offers a variety of services in the areas of ramp, operations (OPS), and passenger handling. Until now, many of the essential business processes were based on manual and paper-based workflows. Ahmed Elfangary, Chairman & CEO of EAS, emphasizes: “By choosing GHS, we are taking a decisive step towards digitizing our processes and preparing ourselves for the future.” He is convinced that the EPG solution will bring long-term benefits for contract and billing management.
The GHS will enable EAS to cover all central operational and commercial functions for effective contract and billing management. This includes, among other things, flight schedule management, which serves as the basis for GHS, as well as IATA reports that ensure up-to-date flight data. Additionally, the system encompasses complete contract management, mobile performance recording, and billing for flights as well as non-flight events. A central goal is to fully bill all services rendered.
Integration with Local Tax Authorities
A special feature of this project is the digital connection to the local tax authorities in Egypt. Standardized XML formats will be provided to enable compliant transmission of tax-relevant data and support adherence to compliance requirements.
Ingo Richter, CEO Logistics Solutions of EPG, highlights: “By opting for a fully integrated digital solution, EAS is setting the course for a future-proof and scalable handling of its ground handling services.” He sees this initiative as an example of how service providers in the aviation industry can combine operational excellence and regulatory compliance through digitization. The project is currently in the implementation phase.
