May 6, 2026 at 9:27 AMQatar Airways Cargo has introduced a new solution for the transport of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products with the launch of Pharma Passive FlexTemp. This innovation aims to address the challenges of managing dual temperature requirements during a single transport operation. According to the company, this makes it the first provider in the air freight industry to implement effective management for dual temperatures.
The new service is available as an additional option for the existing Pharma Passive and Pharma Critical Passive offerings. It allows for the flexible management of temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical and health shipments during transport, particularly when the single-use passive packaging reaches the end of its effective lifecycle.
With the increase in the use of passive packaging solutions in the pharmaceutical supply chain, the complexity of temperature control is also growing. Many shipments start within a defined temperature range secured by passive solutions but require a different temperature during transport to ensure product integrity. Until now, this critical transitional period has been largely unsupported in the air freight industry.
By introducing Pharma Passive FlexTemp, Qatar Airways Cargo aims to set new standards in pharmaceutical handling, thereby solidifying its position as a provider of specialized freight solutions. The new solution offers enhanced flexibility and increases the safety and shelf-life protection for temperature-sensitive health products transported through the company’s global network.

Qatar Airways Cargo positions itself as the world’s leading air freight provider, connecting businesses globally through a network of over 60 cargo destinations and more than 150 bellyhold destinations. Part of the Qatar Airways Group, the company is headquartered in Doha, Qatar, with its hub at Hamad International Airport (HIA) — a premier facility with state-of-the-art infrastructure. The fleet includes 30 Boeing 777 freighters and over 230 passenger aircraft that offer bellyhold capacities, supported by an extensive road transport network. Qatar Airways Cargo is also the launch customer for the innovative Boeing 777-8F, which features advanced technology and offers a 25% improvement in fuel efficiency and emissions, with deliveries expected in 2027.
Pharma Passive FlexTemp can now be booked in conjunction with Pharma Passive and Pharma Critical Passive through the Digital Lounge of Qatar Airways Cargo, across all FlexTemp corridors of the network.
