Ammonia as an alternative ship fuel
In the context of efforts to decarbonize shipping, ammonia is gaining increasing importance as a carbon-free alternative ship fuel according to Wärtsilä. Wärtsilä’s systems are designed for operation with ammonia as well as for the use of dual-fuel engines capable of operating with both ammonia and other fuels.
„This order further strengthens our position and is yet another proof point of executing our strategy focused on shaping the decarbonisation of marine.“
