Qatar Airways Cargo launches solution “EnergyLift”
Jun 2, 2026 at 12:14 PMNetwork Airline Management (NAM) recently played a significant role in a multi-stage humanitarian airlift, transporting over 100 tons of emergency relief supplies to the Democratic Republic of the Congo. On behalf of the client AVICO, NAM successfully handled the long-haul sector of this mission, transporting the essential goods from its hub in Liège, Belgium, to Nairobi, Kenya. Upon arrival, the relief supplies were seamlessly handed over to NAM’s partner airline, Astral Aviation, which conducted the final leg of the flight into the affected region.
Cooperation with international organizations
This operation was coordinated in collaboration with the European Union, UNICEF, and other logistics partners. The transport included vital personal protective equipment (PPE), medical supplies, and clinical materials. These goods are designed to provide immediate support for healthcare workers and institutions operating in the areas most affected by the recent Ebola outbreak.
Sam Lindsey, Commercial and Operations Director of NAM, stated: “Given the urgency of the situation, we prioritized this shipment and took every possible measure to create a time window within our operational schedule to ensure the cargo reached the handover point for the DRC as quickly as possible. Our long-standing expertise on the African continent enables us to tackle the unique challenges of the region, and we are proud to have utilized the specialized air freight capabilities of our Boeing 747-400 freighter fleet to mobilize this aid without delay.”
