Jan 16, 2026 at 5:30 AMPrimeFlight Cargo from Sugar Land, TX, has successfully completed the recertification for its facility at Miami International Airport under the CEIV Pharma program (Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics). This was announced on January 12, 2026.
High Standards in Pharmaceutical Logistics
The CEIV Pharma certification, awarded by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), is considered the highest accolade for the handling of pharmaceutical goods. Shawnpaul Booth, Senior Vice President for Cargo and Global Strategy, stated that this certification reflects the highest standards in the handling of pharmaceutical cargo and underscores PrimeFlight’s commitment to safety, reliability, and operational excellence.
After more than a year of preparation, the PrimeFlight Cargo team at MIA successfully completed the recertification. This was achieved through the implementation of robust operational procedures, training programs, emergency plans, and maintenance protocols for the equipment. The operation met approximately 275 audit requirements that confirmed the station’s ability to safely handle, store, and transport temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical products.

Booth emphasized that the recertification positions PrimeFlight as a trusted partner for pharmaceutical manufacturers, airlines, and logistics providers seeking safe, compliant, and reliable solutions for handling cargo. This achievement reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to protecting product integrity, minimizing operational risks, and ensuring consistent quality in global cargo operations.
The recertification initiative was led by Sergio Roa (center), Senior General Manager, and Vivian Ipina Mekin (right), Quality Control Analyst, who were responsible for operational development and training for nearly 160 team members. Viviana Davis (left), Office Manager, coordinated the infrastructure and facility preparation, while Andres Gonzalez, Vice President for Cargo, provided strategic guidance.
