Jan 8, 2026 at 10:01 AMThe BEUMER Group inaugurated a new state-of-the-art production facility in Taicang, China, on December 10, 2025. This opening coincides with the 20th anniversary of BEUMER in China and the company’s 90th anniversary worldwide. The investment in the new facility underscores BEUMER’s commitment to the Chinese market and strengthens the company’s global production network.
Details of the New Production Facility
The new factory in Taicang covers an area of approximately 33,350 m², of which around 23,000 m² are dedicated to production spaces, distributed across two large workshops and additional ancillary facilities. The construction was completed in a remarkably short period of just 12 months, starting with earthworks in July 2024 and culminating in handover in June 2025. This swift implementation was made possible by efficient project management and support from local authorities in Taicang. The new facility is now fully integrated into BEUMER’s global production network, enabling the company to serve customers in the Asia-Pacific region and worldwide more efficiently. As part of establishing this new location, the BEUMER Group has also founded two new Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprises (WOFE) in Taicang to anchor the expanded operations.
Growth and Development in China
The inauguration of the Taicang facility marks a milestone in BEUMER’s 20-year growth journey in China. The company was founded in 2005 and began with the delivery of a single product line. Over the past two decades, BEUMER’s footprint in China has continuously expanded, now offering a comprehensive portfolio of solutions across various industries, including baggage handling systems for airports, logistics systems, and overland conveying systems, as well as equipment for the cement, mineral, and mining industries. BEUMER China’s workforce has grown from a modest beginning to approximately 400 employees, reflecting the ongoing success of BEUMER’s solutions in the Chinese market.
Focus on Modern and Sustainable Manufacturing
The new production facility in Taicang has been designed as a modern, digital manufacturing center that meets BEUMER’s global standards for innovation and sustainability. Equipped with state-of-the-art production technology and principles of the Smart Factory, the facility will help enhance efficiency and ensure high quality of the products manufactured on-site. BEUMER has built the factory with sustainability and future viability in mind, aiming to minimize the environmental impact of its operations. By constructing a modern, environmentally conscious production site in China, BEUMER aligns itself with both national and global sustainability goals.
Long-Term Partnerships in Focus
By investing in local manufacturing and utilizing advanced digital production techniques in China, BEUMER strengthens its role as a long-term partner for customers in the region. The company not only offers technologically advanced solutions but also the reliability of local support and deliveries. Rudolf Hausladen, CEO of the BEUMER Group, emphasized during the opening ceremony that the foundation built in China over the past two decades has been crucial to the company’s success. “Our journey in China has always been focused on building trust and delivering excellence. This new facility is not just an investment in production capacity but also in the coming decades of partnership with our customers and in the development of our BEUMER footprint in China.”
