Geis Takes First Two Places in the IDS Quality Ranking 2023
Apr 4, 2024 at 6:46 PMBy October 2025, Albert Kerbl GmbH will expand its logistics center in the Bavarian municipality of Ampfing. The family-owned company, which produces and distributes products for animal breeding and husbandry, relies on the experience and expertise of TGW Logistics. The two companies share a long-standing partnership.
(Marchtrenk/Ampfing) Albert Kerbl GmbH was founded 40 years ago in Buchbach: What began in 1984 as a small agricultural trade with five employees is now an internationally operating company with locations in Germany, Austria, Poland, France, and the United Kingdom. Kerbl specializes in the areas of agriculture, electric fencing, occupational safety, horses and riders, hobby farming, and pets, employing more than 700 staff.
To continue providing its customers with an optimal service level, significantly reduce order processing times, and increase efficiency, the specialist in animal breeding and husbandry is focusing on automation – and on collaboration with TGW Logistics.
“We have a long-standing partnership with Albert Kerbl. We are very pleased that the customer is once again relying on the expertise and experience of TGW Logistics for the expansion of its logistics center: This is a great vote of confidence,” emphasizes Thomas Berndorfer, CFO Central Europe of TGW Logistics. “Together, we are now starting the next stage of the automation journey.”
“We are very pleased to announce the signing of the contract with TGW Logistics! The collaboration builds on an already existing, exceptionally trusting partnership,” emphasizes Maximilian Leinfelder, project manager at Albert Kerbl. “We have come to know TGW Logistics as an extremely solution-oriented and goal-driven company. Their professionalism and dedication have left a lasting impression on us and give us confidence in shaping a successful project over the coming years.”
Automation Enables Shorter Order Processing Times
The centerpiece of the FlashPick® system consists of a three-aisle shuttle warehouse with 90,000 storage locations, an automatic pallet high-bay warehouse, and ergonomic PickCenter One picking workstations. The various areas of the facility are connected by energy-efficient KingDrive® conveyor technology, and all processes are controlled and monitored by TGW Warehouse Software. Automation enables shorter order processing times, increases efficiency, and also provides an answer to the labor shortage.
