Oct 10, 2022 at 4:01 PMDeutsche Post DHL Group today published preliminary results for the third quarter of 2022. The Group EBIT reached approximately 2.040 billion euros in the third quarter of 2022 (Q3 2021: 1.771 billion euros). Thus, the Group EBIT after nine months of the current year amounted to around 6.5 billion euros (9M 2021: 5.765 billion euros). Therefore, the earnings forecast for the fiscal year 2022 (currently: 8.0 billion euros +/-5%) will be raised with the publication of the comprehensive report for the third quarter of 2022 on November 8, 2022.
(Bonn) The Group was able to record another positive business development in the third quarter of the current year. The year-on-year comparison of shipment volumes determined by online commerce in the B2C business improved as expected in the third quarter of 2022, compared to the stronger decline observed in the first half of 2022. Against the backdrop of overall economic uncertainties, the transport volumes in the B2B business reflected a declining demand. Accordingly, the capacity situation in the international air and sea freight markets eased. Overall, however, the utilization in all networks of the DHL divisions remained good, enabling an improvement in results.
Results by Segment:
Express: The Express division achieved an EBIT of approximately 1.010 million euros in the third quarter of 2022, up from 971 million euros in the third quarter of the previous year.
Global Forwarding, Freight: The EBIT of Global Forwarding, Freight amounted to around 585 million euros in the third quarter of 2022, significantly above the 372 million euros in the same quarter of the previous year.
Supply Chain: The EBIT of Supply Chain was approximately 220 million euros in the third quarter of 2022, also significantly above the reported EBIT of 142 million euros in the third quarter of the previous year.
eCommerce Solutions: The result of eCommerce Solutions reached around 85 million euros in the third quarter of 2022, compared to 91 million euros in the same quarter of the previous year.
Post & Paket Deutschland: Post & Paket Deutschland achieved an EBIT of approximately 285 million euros in the third quarter of 2022 (Q3 2021: 300 million euros).
Definitive Figures for Q3/2022 on November 8, 2022
The continued good performance led to an increase in free cash flow. In the third quarter of 2022, the Group generated a free cash flow of more than 1.5 billion euros (Q3 2021: 1.257 billion euros).
The Group will publish the comprehensive report for the third quarter of 2022 as planned on November 8, 2022.
