Jul 15, 2026 at 2:25 PMThe Indian online delivery service Flipkart has appointed Vinay Vaidya as Senior Vice President of Technology in the Supply Chain sector. This decision aims to further solidify the company’s technological leadership as it expands its capabilities in artificial intelligence, platforms, and supply chains. Vaidya will be responsible for technologies and platforms in the areas of fulfillment services, seller experience, trust and safety systems, as well as the marketplace, driving innovations in logistics and AI-powered solutions.
Vaidya brings over two decades of experience in building and scaling digital commerce companies. Most recently, he served as Chief Technology Officer at Tata Digital, where he led technology strategy, platform modernization, and comprehensive digital transformations. Prior to that, he spent nearly 18 years at Amazon, where he developed core capabilities in marketplace, seller ecosystem, payments, search and browsing, as well as Amazon India. His experience spans product development, engineering, customer experience, and supply chain functions across various categories, including groceries.
Vaidya’s appointment is part of Flipkart’s ongoing investments in building one of the strongest technology leadership teams in India. This year, several other executives have also been appointed, including Goda Ramkumar as Vice President of Data Science and AI Solutions and Mohan Palisetti as Vice President of Fintech and Payment Engineering.
Balaji Thiagarajan, Chief Product and Technology Officer of Flipkart, commented on Vaidya’s appointment, emphasizing that commerce has evolved beyond purchases and transactions. The quality of the customer experience is determined by numerous decisions made in the areas of supply chains, seller platforms, and fulfillment networks, often before an order is placed. Vaidya brings the necessary combination of product thinking, technological knowledge, and operational rigor to strengthen the technological foundations for Flipkart’s next phase of growth.
Vaidya himself stated that he is particularly attracted to Flipkart by the opportunity to develop technology on a uniquely Indian scale and with a special complexity. He sees great potential in making commerce simpler, faster, and more inclusive by supporting millions of sellers and enabling one of the largest supply chains in the country.
The Flipkart Group is one of India’s leading digital commerce companies and includes Flipkart, Myntra, Flipkart Wholesale, Cleartrip, and super.money. Since its founding in 2007, Flipkart has enabled millions of sellers, merchants, and small businesses to participate in India’s digital commerce revolution. With over 500 million registered users, the marketplace offers more than 150 million products across over 80 categories. Currently, over 1.4 million sellers are active on the platform. Flipkart aims to provide value to every Indian through technology and innovation, having introduced numerous services such as cash on delivery, interest-free installment payments, easy returns, and UPI payments.
