This collaboration enables freight forwarders worldwide to discover, quote, and book Air India’s cargo offerings in real-time. As a result, Air India Cargo is integrated into digital booking channels for the first time, significantly improving accessibility for customers.
Air India’s cargo division offers a variety of products and services in South Asia as well as on key trade routes worldwide. The partnership with cargo.one aims to enhance the efficiency of cargo logistics by enabling freight forwarders to quickly and easily integrate cargo capacities into their logistics solutions. In recent years, Air India has made significant investments, including an order for 600 new aircraft, to increase market availability.
Ramesh Mamidala, head of the cargo division at Air India Cargo, emphasized that improving digital capabilities and customer experience are central aspects of the company’s transformation. The partnership with cargo.one expands the digital accessibility of the cargo offering and enables faster booking experiences. This is intended to strengthen Air India’s commercial reach and provide customers with more flexibility.
Moritz Claussen, co-founder and co-CEO of cargo.one from Berlin, also commented on the collaboration. He highlighted the importance of integrating Air India Cargo’s capacities into modern operational processes, especially for large global freight forwarders that rely on the cargo.one platform.
Effective immediately, freight forwarders can use the cargo.one platform to book Air India’s cargo capacities. Users have the option to secure general cargo of up to 2.5 tons on international routes between India and global hubs such as Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Zurich, New York, San Francisco, and Tokyo.
The partnership between Air India and cargo.one is part of a comprehensive transformation of the company, which aims to strengthen its position in the global air freight market and improve the efficiency of its sales processes.
