Rio Brasil Terminal modernizes with new quay cranes
Jun 24, 2026 at 7:44 AMAir Charter Service has completed the first phase of the modernization of its £18 million headquarters in London. The extensive renovation work included, among other things, the upgrade of the employee restaurant and the gym.
Chris Leach, Chairman of Air Charter Service, emphasized the importance of the headquarters for the company. With an area of over 4,300 square meters, the building spans five floors and houses the three main sales departments in the UK as well as central teams in finance, IT, 24-hour flight operations, marketing, legal & compliance, and human resources. Additionally, the building contains the ACS Training Centre, where charter brokers from global offices receive a month-long training.
Leach stated:
“When the opportunity arose to acquire the building, we decided it was the right time to invest and create a workplace that is not only good but industry-leading.”
The first significant changes included the revitalization of the reception area on the ground floor, the creation of a new employee restaurant and a play area, as well as the upgrade of the gym and locker rooms. A dedicated film studio was also established, and the digital transformation and IT department was redesigned. A large, secure bicycle parking area was built to provide employees with a safe place to store their bikes, promoting cycling to work.
The expanded employee restaurant, completed in November, accommodates more than 120 people and includes café-style areas as well as a playroom. A professional catering team provides employees with free breakfast and lunch daily. Leach added: “Our goal was to make the experience in the building enjoyable and to ensure that our team has everything they need to be successful at work.”
The completion of further projects in May marked the end of the first phase of renovations. The next phase is in the planning stage and will include additional improvements in the area housing the meeting rooms and training center. Changes are also planned throughout the site, including the creation of additional charging points for electric vehicles to meet the increased demand following the launch of the electric vehicle program.
Leach emphasized the importance of a pleasant working environment:
“The office is a place where people spend a lot of time, so it is crucial that we get the environment and culture right. Whether it’s at our famous Christmas and summer parties or investing in facilities, training, or employee benefits – we will continue to invest in our employees, as they are the key to our success.”
