Jun 15, 2026 at 10:33 AMCargolux has announced a partnership with Cathay Technologies to implement the „Electronic Flight Folder“ (EFF) solution in its flight operations. The agreement was signed at the company’s headquarters in Luxembourg. Present were, among others, Captain James Toye, Head of Line Operations at Cathay, and Claude Konsbrück, Vice President of Flight Operations at Cargolux.
The introduction of the EFF solution comes against the backdrop of airlines increasingly needing to digitize their operations and manage operational complexity, as stated by Cargolux. In this context, integrated real-time flight tools are gaining importance to enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability in flight operations. The partnership between Cargolux and Cathay Technologies aims to create a connected operational environment for flight crews.
Digitization of flight operations
According to Cargolux, the EFF solution has been specifically developed for the needs of the flight crew and centralizes flight information such as flight schedules, load sheets, and fuel data on a single platform. This digitization is intended to simplify crew workflows, accelerate decision-making, and increase operational efficiency. A key element of the new solution is the communication tool „Ops Chat.“ This enables integrated, real-time communication between flight personnel and ground teams, which is expected to improve coordination during flight operations.
