Jun 10, 2026 at 12:03 PMAt the end of May, a Cargo Tour took place, organized by the Air Cargo France Association (ACFA), founded in 1996 as Comité Interprofessionnel Fret des Aéroports Parisiens. This event provided students around Paris-CDG Airport with the opportunity to learn about the often-unknown aspects of air freight and airport activities. The aim of the event was to make participants aware that an airport is much more than just a place where passenger planes take off and land. The transport of cargo also plays a crucial role, and behind every shipment are numerous professionals who ensure smooth operations on a daily basis.
The students had the chance to discover various professions within the air freight sector. These included positions such as air freight agent, logistics operator, ground staff, customs agent, operations manager, transport coordinator, as well as security and quality specialists. These professions are part of a complex ecosystem that is essential for global goods transportation.
Career perspectives in the air freight sector
The goal of the Cargo Tour was to spark students‘ interest in these professions and to highlight the importance of their respective activities. The event aimed to strengthen the connection between the corporate world and the education sector. Through direct encounters with professionals, students gained insights into the diverse career opportunities available to them.
The event organizers emphasized the importance of informing young people about various career paths and encouraging them to explore their professional interests. „Investing in the discovery of professions today means preparing the skills of tomorrow,“ said a spokesperson for the organizers.
The event was supported by various partners and professionals who shared their experiences and commitment with the students. This initiative represents a step towards preparing the next generation for the challenges and opportunities in the air freight sector.
