Debrun becomes CEO of DHL Supply Chain in France
Jun 8, 2026 at 7:40 AMNico Schütz has been appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ASMO, a joint venture between Saudi Aramco and DHL. The appointment took effect on June 1, 2026, and Schütz will be based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. In his new role, he will report directly to the board of ASMO.
Schütz brings extensive experience to the company, having been closely involved with the business during ASMO’s founding phase. In his previous position as CEO of DHL Supply Chain Middle East from 2022 to 2023, he played a crucial role in the early development of the joint venture. He helped shape the operational concept, coordinate key stakeholders, and guide the company through a critical phase of its inception.
Prior to his current appointment, Schütz was CEO of DHL Supply Chain France. Since joining DHL in 2006, he has held various leadership positions in strategy, transformation, and corporate governance.
Salem A. Al Huraish, Chairman of ASMO, commented on Schütz’s appointment:
“Nico brings a deep understanding of ASMO, the strategic goals behind its establishment, and the environment in which it operates. Having been involved during the formative phase of the company, he is well-positioned to lead ASMO through the next phase as it continues to expand its capabilities, build strategic partnerships, and enhance its role in Saudi Arabia and the broader MENA region.”
Schütz himself stated:
“I am excited to return to ASMO at such an important phase of its development. ASMO has already evolved from a newly established joint venture into an operational company that now provides essential services to its main customer, Saudi Aramco. I bring a clear vision of ASMO’s purpose, its potential, and the role it can play in the energy, chemicals, and industrial sectors. I look forward to building on this foundation with the team and our stakeholders and leading ASMO through the next phase of growth and development.”
Since its inception, ASMO has built a growing operational presence and has taken over the management of three Saudi Aramco facilities in Riyadh, Jazan, and the Central Pipe Yard, one of the largest pipe yards in the world. Additionally, the company has expanded procurement services for Saudi Aramco in key categories through a broad network of suppliers. Recently, ASMO celebrated the groundbreaking of its first purpose-built logistics center, the largest of its kind to date, in SPARK. By 2030, ASMO is expected to manage procurement activities worth over $8 billion annually, supported by a national network of six strategically located facilities in the Kingdom.
