Jun 3, 2026 at 7:21 AMAnacostia Rail Holdings has appointed Jim McDonald as the new General Manager of the Northern Lines Railway (NLR). He assumes the position immediately, succeeding Quentin Schulte, who previously served as President of NLR.
Mike Naatz, Chief Operating Officer of Anacostia Rail Holdings, commented on the appointment, emphasizing that it reflects both the changing needs of NLR and the confidence in McDonald’s abilities to meet those demands. Naatz stated that McDonald’s leadership will be crucial for the growth and long-term success of the railway.
McDonald began his career in the railroad sector in 2011 at The Indiana Rail Road Company. There, he held various positions, including Trainmaster at the Senate Avenue Terminal in Indianapolis and Manager of Train Operations. In March 2024, he joined the Anacostia group as Trainmaster at the Louisville & Indiana Railroad.
In his initial statement regarding his new role, McDonald expressed his excitement for the challenge and his intention to build on the solid foundation that NLR has already established. His goal is to expand the business while maintaining a commitment to safe, efficient, and reliable operations.
