OPEX receives award for cooling warehouse solution

The OPEX Corporation, a provider of automation solutions for warehouse and document processing, has been awarded the „Warehouse Automation Solution of the Year“ prize. This honor was given to the company for its cold storage solution, which enables multiple temperature zones and storage depths in automated storage systems, as stated by the company. The award was presented by the magazine „Logistics Matters.“

The development of this cold storage solution was driven by a strategic partnership with Peltier, a company specializing in cold chain logistics. According to OPEX, this collaboration has allowed the integration of multi-temperature functions into the automated storage and picking systems „Perfect Pick“ and „Infinity.“ The integration of the „Peltier Tote“ plays a central role in this solution.

The „OPEX AS/RS“ solutions can now be equipped with Peltier containers, enabling customers in the food, pharmaceutical, and life sciences sectors to store chilled and frozen products in a room-temperature warehouse. According to the manufacturer, this reduces the need for expensive freezer rooms or specialized infrastructures. The containers are equipped with individually controllable temperature settings and offer IoT connectivity, allowing for real-time monitoring and control of storage conditions.
