May 21, 2026 at 1:42 PMThe members of the Board of Directors of AFT (Association Française des Transports) unanimously elected Valérie Jimenez as the new president of the organization on May 20, 2026. She will officially take office on June 10, 2026, during the general assembly. Jimenez succeeds Jean-Pierre Gaumet, who has served as president of the organization, which advocates for the interests of the industry and promotes exchanges between companies, professionals, and institutions since January 1, 2020, and whose term is now ending.
Experience and commitment in the industry
Jimenez brings extensive experience in the transport and logistics sector. She is a co-founder of Groupe Jimenez, which was established in 1996 and now employs over 700 people and operates 1,200 vehicles. In addition to her entrepreneurial activities, Jimenez is also involved in various economic committees. She is, among other roles, the president of Medef Haute-Garonne and the Women of Medef Haute-Garonne. Furthermore, she leads the Regional Committee for Vocational Education in the Transport and Logistics sector in Midi-Pyrénées.
For nearly ten years, Jimenez has been a member of AFT and has actively contributed to the organization’s work. Her focus has been on issues such as the attractiveness of professions, employment, skills development, as well as inclusion and gender equality.
Continuation of the AFT mission
With her election as president, Jimenez continues her commitment to AFT. She plans to further expand the organization’s activities while fostering a spirit of collaboration, listening, and efficiency. Her goal is to meet the expectations of professional associations and companies in a challenging economic environment and to strengthen relationships with institutional partners.
Jean-Pierre Gaumet, who has driven significant development of the AFT site during his tenure, is recognized for his commitment. Under his leadership, AFT has undergone a realignment that has resulted in a strengthening of the organization and its services for the transport and logistics sector. The Board of Directors thanks Gaumet for his contributions to AFT and the entire industry.
