Port of Houston receives 48 million USD
Apr 30, 2026 at 11:34 AMHarbor Logistics has appointed Scott Auslund as the new Chief Executive Officer. The decision by the US company based in Charleston, South Carolina, takes effect on May 4, 2026. Auslund brings over 15 years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry and has distinguished himself in the past by scaling operations and creating value.
Experience and strategic direction
Auslund, who previously served as COO at loop.com, led the integration of two acquisitions there and successfully advanced the company. Prior to that, he was CEO of the technology-driven freight service Data2Logistics, where he established a customer-focused corporate culture. He also led a transformation at GR Holdings, a heavy fleet company, into a diversified 3PL/4PL logistics provider. His career includes positions at Mariner, Covenant Logistics, Transplace, and UPS, where he focused on the strategic scaling of businesses.
Marc Kramer, Chairman of the Board of Harbor Logistics, commented on Auslund’s appointment: “We are excited to welcome Scott at such a critical moment for us. His operational depth and industry-specific experience make him particularly suited to lead Harbor into the next phase.”
The new CEO himself emphasized the opportunities ahead: “The company has built a differentiated platform in an attractive and growing market. I look forward to working with the team to accelerate growth and continue to create value for our customers and stakeholders.”
Leadership transition
Auslund succeeds Kevin Shuba, who has led Harbor during a crucial phase of the company’s growth. Shuba brought over 30 years of experience in the transportation and logistics industry and played a key role in the integration and expansion of the company in the southeastern markets of the USA. Allison Kingsley, founder and partner of NOVA Infrastructure, the owner of Harbor, praised Shuba’s contributions: “Kevin stepped in at an important turning point for Harbor and provided the leadership that was needed.”
Harbor Logistics plans to continue investing in its presence in the Charleston region and the broader Southeast. Recent investments include the opening of a 57,000 square meter warehouse in Dorchester County and the commencement of construction on a transloading facility for soybeans in Berkeley County. The company plans to fill additional leadership positions in the coming weeks.
