Apr 30, 2026 at 8:13 AMWIESE Fahrzeugbau has developed a new vehicle concept for forestry applications in cooperation with SAF-HOLLAND. The focus is on a 2-axle roll-off tipper equipped with two forced-steered SAF trailer axles. This design aims to improve maneuverability on narrow forest paths. The development was realized in collaboration with the Austrian forestry contractor Johannes Suntinger, as reported by SAF Holland.
The requirements posed by the transport of wood chips from the forest to the vehicles were the starting point for the development of this special vehicle. The combination of SAF’s forced-steered axles and the electro-hydraulic steering system VSE Advanced Steering is said to enable improved maneuverability, according to the manufacturer. Additionally, the goal is not only to reduce tire wear but also to enhance cost-effectiveness in operation. The vehicle is also equipped with a 50 m³ roll-off container.
